Job Description

The role at Apple is highly visible and offers the opportunity to have a significant impact on Apple products for years to come. As a quality engineer, you will lead on-site activities at final assembly and ramp for the next generation of Apple products. The quality engineering team plays a crucial role in enabling the mass creation of innovative products by partnering in the development of batteries that power Apple's renowned designs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and represent the Manufacturing design team at Final Assembly and Testing (FATP). Your responsibilities will include developing measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods to achieve ambitious specifications at a massive production scale. Strong skills in assembly tolerance stack and failure analysis will be essential to quickly resolve assembly-related issues. In this role, you will compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications. Leading activities to balance quality with scalable yields, you will ensure that the quality plan and measurements are aligned across different nodes of the supply chain. Additionally, you will coordinate all Quality Engineering functions for a program, serving as a project manager to lead efforts at FATP. Your role will involve establishing audit procedures suitable for the program and supplier to ensure alignment with Apple's quality standards. You will evaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processes, driving corrective actions in collaboration with internal and external team members. Minimum Qualifications: - Experience in manufacturing and Quality Control of highly sophisticated electronic assemblies - Experience in developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts - Working knowledge of mechanical quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations - Leading failure analysis with a first principles approach and large amounts of data - Proficiency in GD&T practices with a focus on datum establishment and tolerance analysis - Project management experience with a solid understanding of problem-solving tools such as design of experiments, root cause analysis, and statistical analytical tools using JMP or Minitab - Familiarity with critical assembly/joining processes like glueing, HAF, PSA, welding, and critical quality metrics - Strong communication skills and a passion for learning and adapting to a highly cross-functional collaborative environment Preferred Qualifications: - Strong project management and organizational skills - Exceptional communication skills driven by strong teamwork, project management, and a results-driven approach - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, or similar.
