Job Description

Hiring: Science Educator Ankuran Science Centre

Location:

Science Educators

Role Purpose

Deliver engaging, hands-on science education and mentor students through experiential learning while ensuring lab safety, maintaining scientific equipment, and supporting Ankuran’s outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver interactive classes—including theory, demonstrations, and activities—aligned with CBSE/ICSE/State curricula and Ankuran’s experiential pedagogy.
Design and execute practical sessions, set up/restore apparatus, strictly adhere to safety SOPs (PPE use, chemical/electrical handling, first-aid readiness).
Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, question banks, and rubrics, differentiate instruction for mixed-ability learners.
Track learning outcomes through classwork, practical notebooks, tests, and portfolios, provide remediation and enrichment as needed.
Mentor students on inquiry-based projects and guide participation in fairs, exhibitions, Olympiads, clubs, and showcases.
Maintain lab equipment register, calibration schedules, consumables inventory, and indents, ensure audit compliance.
Support science events and outreach programs such as camps, star-gazing nights, and inter-school competitions, coordinate logistics and reporting.
Collaborate with the Centre Head and faculty on timetables, lab bookings, and stakeholder communication.
Track student attendance daily and maintain accurate records.
Participate in PTMs and document minutes, action items, and follow-ups.
Ensure timely and accurate data entry in the Education Management System (EMS)—attendance, assessments, portfolios, and event updates.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant science discipline, B.Ed. preferred or a strong teaching track record.
Proficiency in hands-on laboratory work, strong conceptual clarity and problem-solving skills.
Effective classroom management and clear communication (English preferred).
Basic IT proficiency (Docs, Slides, Sheets), familiarity with lab experiments and safety norms.
