Job Description

Summary:

  • System Management:

    • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot building systems like electrical distribution, HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and security.
    • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
    • Oversee and coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance and repairs.
    • Monitor and optimize energy usage to improve efficiency and sustainability.
  • Project Management:

    • Plan and execute facility improvement projects, renovations, and upgrades.
    • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
    • Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of system maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
    • Prepare regular reports on facility performance and project status.
  • Vendor Management:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage service level agreements.
  • Additional Duties:

    • Provide technical support and guidance to other departments.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry best practices.
    • Respond to emergencies and critical incidents.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:

    Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    5-10 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in an IT or data center environment.
  • Technical Skills:

    Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and security systems.
  • Project Management Skills:

    Proven ability to plan and execute projects effectively.
  • Communication Skills:

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:

    Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Teamwork Skills:

    Ability to work collaboratively with others.

Additional Requirements:

  • Certifications:

    Relevant certifications in facilities management, energy management, or safety are a plus.
  • Physical Demands:

    May require lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Availability:

    May require working outside of regular business hours to respond to emergencies.
