Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • To lead maintenance of plant, depots and offices in order to maximise uptime in compliance of statutory guidelines, health, safety, environment norms, standard operating processes and standard maintenance practices
  • To obtain and renewal of applicable certificates/ licences/ approvals through liaison with government officials
  • To lead new project development across locations towards process improvement and business growth through development of infrastructure and obtaining permissions to start the projects.

  • Leads development of infrastructure for new projects across business verticals and geographies with focus on:
  • Obtains necessary approvals from government departments for land acquisition, building plans, power and electricity connection, water supply, effluent discharge etc.
  • Leads own and contractual teams to create infrastructure involving civil, mechanical and electrical work
  • Inspects project sites to ensure completion of work as per project milestones and ensures payments are disbursed to vendors in terms of the contract on achievement of milestones
  • Collaborates with existing teams in respective geographical locations to ensure regular operations remain unhindered
  • Leads maximisation of uptime of plant, depots, offices through maintenance activities carried out by own and contractual teams
  • Prepares preventive maintenance plan
  • Ensures maintenance by the plant production team as per preventive maintenance plan
  • Ensures reliability tests and preventive maintenance by appropriate outsourced agencies to mitigate risks
  • Ensures prompt breakdown maintenance through internal resources and by appropriate outsourced agencies and service providers
  • Develops and manages vendors for prompt project execution and maintenance:
  • Identifies the need deploying outsourced agencies for maintenance to leverage specific expertise
  • Collaborates with purchase department to onboard appropriate vendors and renewal of Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs)
  • Tracks vendor performance in terms of TAT, quality, statutory compliance to ensure best utilisation
  • Collaborates with finance for timely vendor payments to ensure continuous support
  • Ensures optimum utilisation of resources:
  • Ensures real time updation of maintenance/ inventory data in the system
  • Reviews documentation of maintenance logs and repair sheets
  • Tracks manpower deployment to maximise productivity
  • Monitors utilisation of spares and tools to optimise consumption
  • Obtains approvals from government and related recognised institutions such as Railways, IITs, Public Work Departments, MES in order to become empanelled vendors for government and other public sector institutions.
