Job Description

 Core Responsibilities of a Facade Lighting Designer 🎨 Conceptual & Creative Design Develop lighting concepts that enhance architectural features and align with the building’s purpose or cultural significance. Create mood boards, sketches, and visual simulations to communicate design intent. Integrate narrative elements—especially in heritage projects—to evoke emotion and historical context. 🛠️ Technical Planning & Specification Select appropriate lighting fixtures, control systems, and mounting methods based on site conditions and design goals. Ensure compliance with local building codes, energy efficiency standards, and safety regulations. Coordinate with structural engineers and facade consultants to ensure seamless integration. 🧠 Simulation & Visualization Use software like DIALux, Relux, or AGi32 to model lighting effects, calculate lux levels, and optimize fixture placement. Produce photometric studies and renderings to validate design performance. 🤝 Collaboration & Coordination Work closely with architects, facade designers, electrical engineers, and cultural consultants. Attend site visits and client meetings to refine designs based on feedback and real-world constraints. 📚 Research & Innovation Stay updated on emerging technologies like smart lighting, kinetic facades, and projection mapping. Explore sustainable lighting practices, including solar integration and low-energy fixtures.
