Fabrication Production Engineer/Manager

Job Purpose:

To supervise and coordinate daily fabrication production activities, ensuring timely completion of jobs with quality standards, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Supervision

• Plan, allocate and monitor fabrication work as per daily/weekly production schedules.
  
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, tools, and consumables.
  
• Supervise fabrication activities such as cutting, welding, fitting, and assembly.
  

1. Team Management

• Lead, guide, and monitor fabrication workers and welders.
  
• Assign tasks and ensure productivity targets are achieved.
  
• Conduct skill development and on-the-job training for workers.
  

1. Quality Control

• Ensure fabrication work meets design specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  
• Coordinate with the Quality department for inspections and approvals.
  
• Identify defects, take corrective actions, and prevent rework.
  

1. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all safety guidelines, PPE usage, and safe work practices are followed.
  
• Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety checks in the fabrication area.
  

1. Process Improvement

• Monitor efficiency and suggest methods for cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  
• Maintain records of production output, manpower utilization, and downtime.
  

1. Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with Planning, Purchase, and Maintenance departments for smooth workflow.
  
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly production reports to management.
  

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (cutting, welding, fitting, assembly).
  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  
• Leadership and team-handling skills.
  
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  
• Knowledge of safety standards in fabrication shops.
  
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP preferred).
