Job Description

As a Fabric Merchandiser, your primary responsibility is to source, procure, and manage fabrics for garment production. You will ensure timely delivery of quality materials within budget by utilizing your strong negotiation skills, fabric knowledge, and collaboration with various teams. Key Responsibilities: - Fabric Sourcing & Procurement: Source fabrics based on design specifications and production needs, negotiate prices with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery aligned with production schedules. - Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with fabric suppliers, evaluate their performance, and ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. - Production Coordination: Work closely with production teams to ensure fabric availability and resolve any issues related to fabric quality or delivery. - Cost Management: Manage fabric costs, negotiate prices with suppliers, and ensure cost-efficiency throughout the fabric sourcing and procurement process. - Quality Control: Implement quality control procedures to ensure fabrics meet required standards and specifications. - Trend Analysis: Stay updated on fabric trends and innovations, and recommend new fabrics or materials to designers and product development teams. - Collaboration: Work with designers, production managers, and other relevant teams to align fabric choices with product collections and market demands. - Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of fabric orders, deliveries, costs, and quality checks. - Innovation & Sustainability: Explore and implement innovative fabric sourcing solutions, and promote sustainability in fabric selection and production. Qualifications Required: - Fabric Knowledge: Strong understanding of different fabric types, their properties, and manufacturing processes. - Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms. - Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external vendors. - Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines. - Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to fabric sourcing, quality, or delivery. - Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market trends, fabric costs, and production data. - Bachelor's Degree: A degree in textiles, fashion merchandising, or a related field is often preferred.,
