Key Responsibilities:

1. Fabric Development & Sourcing:

Lead development of knit and woven fabrics aligned with seasonal brand direction.
Collaborate closely with designers, PD, and buying teams to source innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective fabric options.
Maintain and expand relationships with leading local and international mills.

2. Vendor & Mill Management:

Liaise with mills for new developments, sampling, lead times, and capacity planning.
Evaluate mills based on quality, delivery timelines, compliance, and innovation.
Ensure mill partners meet brand standards for sustainability and compliance.

3. Technical Expertise:

Provide technical guidance on yarns, fabric constructions, dyeing, and finishing processes.
Troubleshoot fabric-related issues during development and production phases.
Conduct lab dips, hand feel, GSM, shrinkage, and shade band approvals.

4. Costing & Negotiation:

Work with suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing without compromising on quality.
Analyze cost structures and drive cost engineering when required.

5. Quality & Compliance:

Ensure all fabrics meet internal and external quality and performance standards.
Monitor fabric testing protocols and approvals (e.g., colorfastness, pilling, stretch, etc.).
Stay updated on global compliance and sustainability regulations.

6. Market Intelligence:

Track industry trends, innovation in fabric technology, and market movements.
Attend textile fairs and vendor meetings to keep up with trends and sourcing opportunities.
