Your key responsibilities
- Manage quality of service delivery
- Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing Supervisors of engagement status
- Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion, and manage expectations regarding the timing of deliverables and reports
- Apply independent and objective professional judgment in applying accounting standards to meet engagement expectations, including regulatory requirements
- Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., guidelines of the EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situations
- Preparation of underlying materials as well as leading/participation in client workshops
- Co-ordinating activities between small teams on projects to deliver tasks, including providing guidance and feedback to junior team members
- Undertaking practice development activities including contributing to thought leadership pieces, running industry events, delivering training, or managing team communications
- Developing strong internal and external networks for long term relationships, managing EY accounts and to bring all EY to clients
- Driving innovation by creating an environment that encourages innovation and being a leader in this area by implementing new and improved ways of working, delivery models and / or technological advancements
- Establishing and managing effective working relationships with peer-level clients as part of project delivery roles
Skills and attributes for success
- Good understanding of IFRS/US/UK GAAP and International auditing standards
- Technical accounting advisory on complex topics (e.g. business combinations, consolidation, shared based payments, financial instruments including debt/equity etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
- Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
- Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary
- Confident and comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity in a project environment
- Take personal responsibility for the quality of delivery
- Instil a positive team mentality, even when under pressure, by treating their colleagues well and creating an inclusive culture
- Extremely comfortable and confident around senior stakeholders, internally and externally
- Extremely comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint. Much of our work involves detailed analysis so it is critical you can work with these tools
- Working experience in relation to the following services/solutions
- Accounting and regulatory support for accounting change and special matters
- White paper writing skills
- Provide comprehensive technical accounting guidance to clients, addressing complex issues and transactions. (Business Combination, consolidation, stock based compensation, revenue, leases accounting, etc)
- Conduct research and analysis on accounting issues, documenting findings and proposing solutions.
- Preparation of financial statements including accounting policies and governance
- Accounting processes
- Audit support and governance
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA (US) or ACCA (UK)
- 3-6 years of relevant post qualification experience
