Job Description

Job Summary:

A PVC Extrusion Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery that extrudes PVC materials into various products such as pipes, profiles, sheets, and films. This role involves setting up equipment, monitoring the extrusion process, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring quality control standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:
Set up and operate extrusion machines according to production schedules and product specifications.
Load raw PVC materials into the hopper of the extrusion machine.
Adjust machine settings, including temperature, pressure, and speed, to optimize the extrusion process.
Monitor the extrusion process and make necessary adjustments to ensure product quality and efficiency.
Quality Control:
Inspect extruded products for defects such as variations in size, color, or surface finish.
Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Identify and troubleshoot issues that may affect product quality.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting machine components.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
Safety:
Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of production data, including production rates, machine settings, and quality control results.
Document maintenance activities and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma in (Plastic Engineering) or equivalent
Previous experience in manufacturing or production, preferably in plastics extrusion
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
Physical fitness to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
Basic computer skills
Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays

Training:
Operators may undergo specific training on extrusion machine operation, quality control procedures, and safety protocols.
Certification:
Some employers may require certification in specific areas, such as machine operation or quality control.
Advancement:
