JOB SUMMARY -

Foreign matter technician ensures seamless and efficient process quality control testing to mitigate contamination-related risk.

• Conduct routine inspections of the E-Zone to detect and document foreign matter (FM) or particulate contamination.
• Operate and maintain particle counters, microscopes, and other inspection tools.
• Collect and analyse samples from equipment, materials, and surfaces to assess contamination levels.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for FM-related quality issues.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to implement contamination control protocols.
• Ensure compliance with cleanroom standards (e.g., ISO 14644) and internal SOPs.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions.
• Train operators and technicians on FM awareness and cleanroom best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES -

The Foreign Matter Technician is responsible for monitoring, identifying, and mitigating contamination risks—particularly foreign particles—in the E-Zone (Electrode Zone) of a battery cell manufacturing facility. This role is critical to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and product integrity in cleanroom environments.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential –

• 3-7 years of experience in a

  cleanroom or contamination control role, preferably in battery, semiconductor, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

• Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and contamination control.

• Experience using

  microscopes, particle counters, and FM analysis tools

• Understanding of

  electrode manufacturing processes is a plus.
