Job Description

Fire & Safety professional

Key Responsibilities

Conduct
fire risk assessments, safety audits, and hazard analysis
across hospital premises.
Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of
firefighting equipment
(extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, alarms).
Develop, implement, and regularly review
fire safety policies, evacuation plans, and SOPs
.
Organize
fire drills, staff training, and mock evacuation exercises
for awareness.
Act as the
first responder in fire/emergency situations
and coordinate with local fire authorities.
Monitor storage and handling of
flammable materials, oxygen cylinders, and medical gases
.
Maintain records of inspections, drills, incidents, and compliance reports for audits.
Support NABH/JCI accreditation by ensuring safety protocols are adhered to.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of
firefighting systems and safety equipment
.
Ability to train and orient staff on fire safety and emergency preparedness.
Good communication and coordination skills (internal staff & external agencies).
Familiarity with
NABH / JCI safety standards
in healthcare preferred.
Quick decision-making and calmness under emergency conditions.
