Job Description


Job Title: EHS Officer / Executive

Department:

Job Purpose:

To implement, monitor, and continuously improve EHS processes at the Ethakota facility ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and fostering a safe working environment aligned with statutory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Incident Prevention & Safety Monitoring

    • Identify and reduce unsafe acts and conditions.
    • Conduct safety inspections across departments and ensure timely closure of observations.
    • Implement and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) system compliance.

  1. Emergency Preparedness

    • Conduct scheduled Mock Drills and Fire Drills.
    • Ensure readiness of emergency response systems.
    • Analyse participation and response time.

  1. Statutory Compliance

    • Assist in ensuring compliance with PCB, Factory Act, Fire, and local administration norms.
    • Support during inspections by external authorities and ensure zero non-compliances.

  1. PPE Compliance & Worker Participation

    • Ensure 100% compliance in PPE usage across operations.
    • Monitor and report PPE violations.
    • Facilitate and drive worker participation through quarterly safety committee meetings.
  2. Inventory & Cost Control

    • Maintain and track PPE and safety equipment inventory.
    • Reduce wastage and optimize usage and cost.
  3. Audit Compliance

    • Maintain RCMS/IMS documentation.
    • Ensure zero non-conformances during audits.
    • Ensure timely closure of internal and external audit observations.
  4. Training & Development

    • Plan and conduct safety training sessions covering all workforce categories.
    • Track training hours and coverage.
  5. Safety Initiatives & Campaigns

    • Organize and lead EHS campaigns and awareness events.
    • Drive initiatives leading to visible risk reduction.
  6. Fire Protection Equipment Maintenance

    • Conduct routine checks of fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, sprinklers, etc.
    • Ensure zero complaints regarding the functionality of fire protection systems.

Education:

  • Knowledge of statutory EHS compliance and audit handling
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Training & documentation proficiency
  • Emergency response and risk assessment abilities
