Engineering Manager VP

As an Engineering Manager in the OSS Platform Engineering team, you will lead a team of engineers in developing and maintaining critical infrastructure components. Your role will involve hands-on expertise in various areas including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Cloud Platforms, CI/CD Pipelines, Containerization & Orchestration, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles within a product-focused organization. - Strong understanding and practical experience with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Pulumi are required. - Proficiency in resource management frameworks like Apache Mesos, Kubernetes, and Yarn is essential. - Familiarity with Linux operating systems and monitoring/logging/Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK is necessary. - Programming expertise in languages such as Python, Java, or Golang is a key requirement. - Solid foundation in architectural and systems design principles is necessary. - Familiarity with scalability and resilience patterns, various types of databases (RDBMS & NoSQL), and multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud architectures is expected. In addition to the core skill sets, expertise in Network and infrastructure operational product engineering is highly valued. Knowledge of Network Protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, and IPSec is beneficial. Possession of certifications like CCNA or equivalent would be advantageous. Experience in Network Security and Network Automation is considered a plus. Familiarity with concepts like zero trust, TLS/SSL, VPNs, gNMI, gRPC, and RESTCONF will be beneficial. Proficiency in Agile Methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, along with experience in backlog and workflow management, is essential. Additionally, knowledge of SRE-specific reporting metrics like MTTR, deployment frequency, and SLO (Service Level Objectives) will be required to drive the team towards operational excellence.
