As an Engineering Manager at Currencycloud, a Visa company, you will lead a team dedicated to implementing an industry-leading API that has facilitated over 50 billion USD of cross-border transactions for 5 million end-users. Working within a small autonomous team, your role will be vital in making technical decisions, fostering team growth, and enhancing process efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Grow team members and cultivate a high-performing team through recruitment and retention activities - Foster an environment of psychological safety for team members to excel - Act as a culture champion representing the team in broader engineering and tech organizations - Lead technical discussions, make decisions, and provide guidance on architecture and tool selections - Continuously optimize the team's software process to deliver enduring value - Manage productivity, tackle organizational challenges, and communicate effectively with stakeholders Qualifications Required: Basic Qualifications: - 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience Preferred Qualifications: - 9+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree - Minimum 2 years of experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Team Lead - Proficiency in Agile processes and principles - Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Strong command of modern programming languages, especially Java - Familiarity with modern Cloud-Native architectures and practices - Experience with TDD, BDD, Contract testing, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps - Proven track record of delivering scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance solutions - Pragmatic approach to technical projects and leading change in a distributed environment Currencycloud follows the principle of small autonomous teams that take ownership of their future.
