Engineering Manager - Tools Engineering (Cloud and Operations)

As a leader at PhonePe, you will be responsible for facilitating discussions, leading decision-making on engineering aspects, defining and executing engineering plans, driving best practices, and maintaining the hygiene of production systems. You will also be accountable for the health of the business directly owned by your team, challenging product outcomes, channelizing feedback into execution, and being responsible for engineering outputs. Additionally, you will be in charge of hiring, mentoring, and retaining a best-of-class engineering team, as well as managing stakeholders including product, operations, and clients/vendors. Collaboration with the SRE organization to find synergies and products that can benefit the organization as a whole is also a key aspect of this role. Qualifications required for this position include proven skills in designing and developing simple to complex solutions, experience in designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems, a track record of building and managing high-performing software development teams, ability to drive design and architecture of multiple subsystems, at least 9+ years of software development experience with 3+ years in leading teams, leading a team of 10+ engineers, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and past experience with startups and fast-paced environments is considered an added advantage.,
