Engineering Manager

As a Software Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers by providing technical direction and mentoring. Your role will involve overseeing the end-to-end software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirement analysis, design reviews, code quality, and deployment. It will be crucial for you to ensure adherence to secure coding standards such as PCI-DSS compliance and industry best practices. Collaboration with stakeholders across product, QA, and operations to deliver complex technical projects will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will be driving a DevOps culture, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and automating deployment processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in conducting performance tuning and scalability reviews for Java microservices-based applications. You will also be managing integration with APIs, third-party services, and transaction systems. Keeping the team updated on emerging technologies relevant to BFSI and guiding innovation will be essential in this role. To excel in this position, you should bring to the table 10-16 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. Your proven expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Hibernate/JPA, and microservices architecture will be highly valued. Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and event-driven systems is a must. A strong understanding of multithreading, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems will be beneficial for this role. Proficiency with SQL & NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) is required, along with experience in message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) and API gateway integrations. Familiarity with DevOps practices, Git, Jenkins, and monitoring tools (New Relic, AppDynamics) is also essential. Your strong experience in performance tuning and load testing will further strengthen your candidacy. Ideally, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Exposure to architectural design patterns and enterprise integration frameworks will be considered a plus.
