Engineering Lead - Data Infrastructure

Role Overview: As the Engineering Lead for data infrastructure at Deutsche Bank, you will be responsible for driving the design, built, and continuous improvement of cloud-based and on-prem data platforms and the pipelines connecting them. You will lead a high-impact squad, align closely with the CTO Data, set technical direction, mentor team members, and contribute directly to architecture and code. Key Responsibilities: - Lead, grow, and mentor a high impact data platform engineering team - Hands-on contribution to software development efforts - Own end-to-end architecture and design of various data platform components from data ingestion to distribution - Model, test, collaborate, implement, and help test requirements - Contribute to the development of testing and quality control processes and policies - Collaborate with architects, security engineers, control functions, Chief Data Office, and other stakeholders to enhance compliance, security posture, and reliability - Work with product owners to translate product vision and demand into platform capabilities Qualifications Required: - 12+ years of experience in platform-, data engineering, or a related field - Strong expertise in modern data stack with cloud-based data platforms like GCP BigQuery, Snowflake, and their ecosystem - Extensive experience in operating production cloud infrastructure, especially Google Cloud, in complex enterprise environments - Proficiency in IaC (e.g., Terraform), automation tooling, orchestration tooling (e.g., dbt, Airflow) - Good understanding of data governance, security, and IT compliance in highly regulated environments - Programming skills in Python and/or Java - Experience with SDLC tools such as Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, OpenShift - Experience in growing and leading highly performing engineering teams - Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and attention to detail Additional Company Details: Deutsche Bank fosters a culture of empowerment, responsibility, commercial thinking, initiative, and collaboration.
