Engineer / Sr. Engineer - Procurement

As an Engineer / Sr. Engineer - Procurement at Schindler India, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing a strategy that adds value, mitigates supply chain risk, and delivers cost savings. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting market analysis to identify and onboard new electrical suppliers - Making strategic localization or make/buy decisions for key components to optimize cost efficiency - Collaborating with global category managers to implement global strategies/projects and achieve substantial cost reductions - Utilizing cost estimation methodologies such as zero-based costing and activity-based costing for accurate forecasting and budget optimization - Demonstrating proficient understanding of import and export Incoterms to streamline international transactions - Supporting business growth by coordinating supplier capacity scaling in alignment with evolving demand - Collaborating with the modernization design center and Field operations team to ensure procurement aligns with technical requirements for price negotiations - Handling part pricing in the system and preparation of PAR data as per requirement - Taking quotations and preparing impact analysis for CP changes for local and global suppliers Authorities include: - New supplier selection/onboarding - Finalization of new supplier price/norms - Localization or Make/Buy decisions of component - Periodic price settlement with suppliers based on agreement - Finalization of supplier tooling/fixturing price - Supplier Escalation/De-escalation based on supplier performance - Supplier SOB decision - Change implementation decisions based on cost with respect to Business case - Preparation of Cost-saving Projects Business case Qualifications required for this role: - Education: B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical/Electronics.
