Job
Description
The role you are applying for will involve being responsible for the design activities of Eaton's Sensing & Electrification products within the Aerospace Engine solutions and Electrification team. Your tasks will include performing design engineering work starting from concept development, trade studies, design for manufacturability, and final design documentation. You should be able to generate complex component drawings to effectively communicate requirements and develop creative solutions using existing technologies or novel designs when necessary to meet the product requirements. Your responsibilities will also include the mechanical design of sensor products such as Oil debris monitoring products, Pressure Sensors, Power conversion/distribution products, and fluid accessories within the Aerospace Engine solution and Electrification team. You will perform complex engineering assignments involving product design, testing, compliance to specifications, process studies, or research investigations using appropriate tools and techniques. In this role, you will be involved in the modeling and design of mechanical components and assemblies, which may include plastics, sheet metal, heat sinks, insulation systems, magnetic components, high voltage connectors, fasteners, and other components. You will need to solve electronics packaging issues such as electrical isolation, sealing, thermal management, interconnection, shock and vibration management, electromagnetic interference (EMI), and RF communications. Collaboration will be a key aspect of your work as you will need to work with power electronics, FEA, manufacturing, and test lab teams to successfully design and validate the product. You will be responsible for executing prototype builds, performance/durability testing, teardown of prototype samples, and evaluating product performance against customer requirements for concept-level ideas as well as detailed designs before product launch. Additionally, your role will involve utilizing DFSS concepts/tools for new product development or existing product improvements, creating 3D models, drawings, reports, ECRs/ECOs, BOMs, tooling designs, test fixture designs, test plans, and test reports. You will also coordinate design reviews through the release process and sustain processes for design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents, and data control for the associated business group. To excel in this role, you should have a B.E/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech in Mechanical or a related engineering area with 5-8 years of experience (BE/B.Tech) or 3-5 years (ME/M.Tech) in design and development of power electronics devices and electromechanical components. Relevant knowledge of the basics of electronics will be an added advantage. Your skills should include experience in sensors and electromechanical product design and qualification, a deep understanding of material science of components used in mechanical design, experience in handling electronics packaging issues, in-depth knowledge of mechanics of materials, statics, and dynamics, strong product design ability, experience using CATIA and AutoCAD for modeling and drafting, innovative mechanical design skills, ability to make recommendations on product designs, lead technical discussions and presentations, work with PLM systems, and work on bids and proposals. Overall, this role requires a strong background in mechanical design, engineering, and product development, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and deliver high-quality solutions to meet customer requirements.,
