Description : The Electrical Drafting Engineer is responsible for creating detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts for various projects. This role involves working closely with electrical engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that designs meet technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical drafting, proficiency in CAD software, and a solid understanding of electrical systems and components. Responsibilities : A) Design and Drafting: Thorough understanding of Electrical designing principles and its applications. Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, BricsCad). Develop wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable routing plans. Create and modify electrical and instrumentation drawings based on engineering sketches, mark-ups, and design changes. Layout of Sub Stations, Control Rooms, Elevation Views, Cable Trays and Trench layout, HVAC and ducting layouts etc., illumination layouts, thundering and lightning layouts, PLC architecture layouts etc. B) Collaboration: Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve design efficiency and functionality. Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., mechanical, civil) to ensure integrated design solutions i.e., foundation layouts, trays along structures and buildings etc. Occasionally visit sites to gather information and ensure accurate implementation of designs. C) Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and design change records as per Project Number in foldering structure. (i.e., organize files logically, making it easier to find and access specific documents, files, or other data.) Prepare as-built drawings and documentation for project handover. D) Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness. Identify and resolve design issues or discrepancies during the drafting process. E) Technical Support: Provide technical support to the engineering team during the design and construction phases. Assist in the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and project proposals. F) Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, and IEEE). Verify that drawings adhere to company standards and project specifications. Requirements : Education : Diploma or B.Tech - Electrical Engineering Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical drafting or a similar role matching with above responsibilities. Experience in industries such as power systems, construction, manufacturing, or automation is preferred. Certifications (Preferred) : Certification in AutoCAD or other relevant drafting software from reputed / recognized training organisations.
