Description : GTS is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Piping Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will specialize in the design and engineering of piping systems for mineral processing and bulk material handling facilities. This role requires a strong background in piping systems design, stress analysis, and layout engineering. The Piping Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and contractors to ensure the successful execution of projects from concept to completion. Responsibilities : 1. Develop detailed piping layouts and designs based on P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams). 2. Prepare comprehensive piping design drawings, including routing, support placement, and integration with equipment. 3. Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of piping systems with other disciplines. 4. Participate in 3D design reviews, safety meetings, and project coordination meetings to track progress and mitigate risks. 5. Select appropriate materials for piping systems based on fluid type, temperature, pressure, and environmental conditions. 6. Prepare piping material specifications and ensure alignment with project standards and regulatory requirements. 7. Perform various calculations related to piping to meet safety and compliance standards. 8. Perform pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II software to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements. 9. Conduct static and dynamic analysis of piping systems to evaluate performance under various operating conditions. 10. Design and analyze piping support systems to ensure stability and integrity. 11. Ensure all piping designs comply with applicable industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI, ISO). 12. Review existing designs to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to best practices and operational needs. 13. Utilize E3D, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or similar CAD software to develop accurate piping design drawings and layouts. 14. Transfer civil load data accurately for integration into piping designs. Requirements : 1. A bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Piping Engineering or a related field. 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in piping design, layout engineering, piping stress engineering, and detailed engineering within the mining, mineral, or metal industries. 3. Proven experience in FEED and detailed design phases of projects, from initial concept to final design. 4. Experience working on large-scale mining or mineral processing projects. 5. Proficiency in AutoCAD, E3D, Plant 3D, or similar 3D CAD software for piping design. 6. Expertise in CAESAR II software for pipe stress analysis. 7. Strong understanding of piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI, ISO) and their application in design. 8. Knowledge of piping layout principles, including routing, spacing, support design, and integration with equipment and structures. 9. Understanding of piping support systems and load transfer principles. 10. Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. 11. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
