Emergency Physician

Role & responsibilities Registrar / Senior Registrar Consultant in the emergency department, he / she will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries. He / She will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat patients efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure. Every 2 years, the privileges of each specialist must be rewritten and the new privileges report will be kept in his file. He/she contributes to the teaching and training activities of the professional developments of junior Emergency Department staff. He/she will work towards completing his professional training in Emergency Department including diagnostics and therapeutic intervention. The Emergency Specialist is responsible to the Director & Senior Consultant of the Emergency Department and accountable to the Medical Superintendent. 4. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 4.1 Provide timely and comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in the emergency department. 4.2 Manage the initial stabilization and resuscitation of critically ill or injured patients. 4.3 Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms, to aid in diagnosis and treatment. 4.4 Prescribe medications and other treatments as appropriate, following evidence-based guidelines and best practices. 4.5 Coordinate with specialists and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for patients requiring further evaluation or admission. 4.6 Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record. 4.7 Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes. 4.8 Provide education and supervision to junior medical staff, including residents and interns. 4.9 Stay up-to-date with advances in emergency medicine through continuing medical education and professional development activities. 4.10 Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations governing medical practice and patient care. Preferred candidate profile MD/DNB in Emergency Medicine/ FEM/MEM/MRCEM / General Medicine / Anaesthesiology with ER Experience
