You will have the opportunity to lead Innovative embedded product development and work with global technical leadership teams for embedded products for Emerson business units located across the globe. You'll be employed for Emerson Innovation Centre, Pune (EICP). In this role, your responsibilities will be to work with the local EICP Technical Lead - Electronics Center of Excellence (ECoE), enhance existing and/or develop new hardware designs/technology that enables the launch of new products, understand customer requirements and communicate them to multi-functional teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate. You will provide technical solutions to customer problems, review project deliverables to ensure quality levels are met, provide regular updates on development and support activities, follow the defined processes and follow the Hardware Development Life Cycle Model. Additionally, you will review technical concepts of all electronics projects including equipment specification and design, lead and/or assist new product development activities such as build architecture design, new circuit designs, leverage existing designs, identify and use proven technologies, and provide mentorship/support for debugging to the team. You will also nurture an innovative and quality development culture within the organization. You relate comfortably with people across levels, functions, cultures, and geography. You are a self-motivated, team-oriented individual who can set and achieve goals. You are interested in learning, problem-solving, and collaborate well with others. You work with product other functional groups that include Software and Supply Chain. For this role, you will need an Engineering degree in Electronics, eight (8) or more years of applicable experience, be knowledgeable in microcontroller-based board level design, High-Speed Design, Precision Analog Design & proficient global Hardware development cycle, have experience with simulation and analysis tools, and the ability to flex working hours to accommodate global time zones. Preferred qualifications that set you apart include experience leading and executing new circuit board designs, experience working with international teams, familiarity with industrial digital communication protocols (e.g., 4-20mA, HART, Modbus), experience with EMC requirements and design techniques, experience with international safety and hazardous location design, including intrinsic safety & SIL standards design, and experience with VLSI/CPLD design. You will be responsible for leading the technical delivery of automotive electronics hardware for global vehicle OEMs, including Instrument clusters, Infotainment, Telematics, Information displays, ADAS Hardware, and Cockpit electronics controllers. Your role will require very good automotive domain experience. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the execution of hardware development activities to ensure timely product delivery with the required quality. You will need to ensure that project teams follow defined processes, methods, and tools across different OEMs. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability of project resources (staffing & tools) and budget to meet deliverables and timing. Collaboration with the engineering team is essential to resolve inter-competency issues in line with program timelines and quality standards. You will drive continuous cross-functional skill upgrades among hardware engineers and identify opportunities for improvement during project executions. Monitoring program timing, cost, and quality attributes will be necessary to take the required actions for successful hardware delivery. As the first line escalation point for hardware project risks/issues, you will manage and address escalated risks that affect hardware development project timing, cost, and quality. As an experienced individual in the field of electrical engineering with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, you will be responsible for various key responsibilities related to genset controls. Your duties will include finalizing control system architecture, designing harnesses, and troubleshooting issues that may arise. Additionally, you will be expected to have a strong understanding of genset level DVPR tasks, particularly in steady state and transient performance, EMC requirements, and Equipotential tests. As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for simulating Power Electronics circuits using tools like MATLAB, Simplorer or other simulation software. You will also be required to have a deep understanding of PCB components and their design, including the selection of topologies for DC/AC, DC/DC Converters. Your role will involve selecting Power Electronics components such as IGBTs, chokes, capacitors, and current sensors. Your technical skills should include expertise in design calculations, circuit design, and simulation. You should have experience in testing Power Electronics products like Drives, Inverters, Converters, and Rectifiers. Additionally, you should be proficient in analog/digital circuit design, circuit simulation, component selection, and PCB design. In this role, you will be responsible for simulating power electronics circuits, conducting design calculations, and performing power loss calculations. You will need to select topologies and components for various types of converters and design SMPS. Knowledge of EMC requirements, EMC filter design, and selection is essential. You are expected to have knowledge of Drives, VFD, motor controls, & modulation techniques for three-phase inverters. Experience in power electronic design & development for 1.5KV and 4000 A product lines is required. You will design, implement, and test new power electronic control software to meet documented requirements for power conversion products like Wind, Solar, Drives. Your responsibilities will include developing FMEA and risk mitigation plans, integrating power electronic systems into larger electrical systems, troubleshooting power electronic systems, conducting failure analysis, and implementing corrective actions to enhance product reliability. Awareness of UL and CE electrical safety requirements and EMC requirements relevant to power converters, as well as high voltage switching power supply test and development, will be part of your role. You will also be involved in test and debug of prototype and production power supply assemblies, design verification testing of completed products, and supporting bid and proposal activity by leading feasibility assessments and concept development. You will work with a multi-disciplinary engineering development team that includes controls engineering, power conversion design, mechanical design, control hardware design, and Integration / Test.
