Embedded Engineer Trainee - Job Description

Job Type: Full-time, Trainee

Job Summary: The Embedded Engineer Trainee will be an integral part of our engineering team, learning and assisting in the design, development, testing, and debugging of embedded software and hardware. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with a foundational understanding of embedded systems who are eager to kickstart their career in this exciting field. You will work closely with senior engineers, gaining exposure to the full development lifecycle of embedded products.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to implement and test firmware solutions according to project specifications.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Gain familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux concepts.
  • Understand hardware schematics and assist in hardware-software integration.
  • Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical skills and knowledge of embedded systems, programming languages (C/C++), and development tools.
  • Adhere to coding standards, quality practices, and project timelines.
  • Work effectively as part of a cross-functional team, communicating technical concepts clearly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of C and/or C++ programming languages.
  • Basic understanding of microcontrollers, microprocessors, and digital electronics.
  • Familiarity with data structures and algorithms.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred (but not required) Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with embedded development boards (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32).
  • Basic understanding of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) or embedded Linux.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of basic hardware debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer).
  • Experience with any communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Personal projects related to embedded systems.
