Job Description

About the Role

Were looking for an experienced backend engineer to join our growing team. You’ll design and maintain large-scale Elixir/Phoenix applications, improve distributed systems, and lead modernization projects in a cloud-native environment on AWS.

What You’ll Do

Build and evolve backend services using
Elixir/Phoenix
and OTP patterns (GenServers, supervision trees).
Design and maintain
event-driven systems
leveraging Kafka/SQS/SNS.
Modernize legacy codebases, migrate services, and improve performance.
Deploy, monitor, and optimize applications on
AWS
(EC2, Lambda, ECS, RDS, etc.).
Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver high-impact features.
Mentor teammates and share knowledge on Elixir best practices.

What We’re Looking For

7+ years
of backend engineering experience, with
3–5+ years of Elixir/Phoenix
in production.
Solid grasp of
OTP
, distributed systems, and fault-tolerant architectures.
Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/Lambda, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch, etc.).
Familiarity with Kafka or other event-streaming tools.
Proficiency with relational & in-memory databases (MySQL, Redis).
Understanding of REST/GraphQL API design and containerization (Docker).
Strong communication skills and ability to mentor others.

Nice to Have

Exposure to
Erlang
or other functional languages (Haskell, Clojure).
Experience with Salesforce integrations or multi-instance architectures.
Background in microservices observability (metrics, tracing, logs).
