Job Description for Electrician – SMS (Steel Melting Shop):

Job Summary:

We are hiring an experienced Electrician for the Steel Melting Shop (SMS) to handle electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and smooth operation of equipment. The role ensures uninterrupted power supply, safe handling of electrical systems, and support for production activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical installation, operation, and maintenance of SMS equipment (EAF, LF, CCM, cranes, pumps, motors, panels, etc.).
• Diagnose and repair faults in motors, drives, panels, transformers, and cables.
• Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems.
• Monitor load distribution, power supply, and electrical parameters during shifts.
• Maintain logbooks, daily reports, and shift records.
• Replace fuses, switches, contactors, and other electrical accessories as needed.
• Support automation, PLC, and control system-related troubleshooting (if required).
• Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety procedures.
• Coordinate with mechanical and production teams for smooth operations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of HT/LT motors, transformers, switchgear, and control circuits.
• Hands-on experience in SMS/steel plant equipment maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Safety-conscious and teamwork-oriented.

Qualifications:

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in SMS / Steel industry

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
