Job Description: Electrical Technician

Location: NMDC Nagarnar, Jagdalpur
Salary Range: ₹15,000 – ₹22,000 per month
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years

Qualification

• ITI Electrician (from a recognized institute) OR
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering (EE)
• 2 years of relevant industrial/plant maintenance experience is required.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within the NMDC plant. Major responsibilities include:

1. Electrical Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance of motors, transformers, switchgears, MCC panels, VFDs, UPS, and LT/HT electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and rectify breakdowns in minimum time.
• Inspect and test electrical systems to ensure proper functioning.

2. Installation & Commissioning

• Install electrical wiring, panels, lighting systems, sensors, motors, and other plant equipment.
• Assist in commissioning of new machinery and electrical components.

3. Safety and Compliance

• Follow electrical safety standards (LOTO, PPE usage, isolation procedures).
• Ensure compliance with plant safety norms and statutory regulations.
• Report unsafe conditions and participate in safety drills.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain logbooks for maintenance activities and breakdown reports.
• Prepare checklists and inspection reports.
• Update preventive maintenance schedules.

5. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Conduct periodic inspection and servicing of electrical systems.
• Identify potential failures and perform corrective actions to avoid downtime.

6. Coordination

• Coordinate with the maintenance team, engineers, and production department.
• Assist senior technicians and electrical engineers when required.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, SLDs, and wiring diagrams.
• Hands-on experience with tools and measuring instruments (multimeter, clamp meter, megger, etc.)
• Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of PLC panels (basic), control circuits, and automation (preferred).
