JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ø Troubleshoots repairs and maintains electrical distribution systems including electric motors, electric controls, fire alarms, and clock systems.

Ø Ensures campus fire alarms and emergency electrical systems are operational; performs certification testing on alarm systems.

Ø Installs, troubleshoots and repairs new equipment and systems, including all campus lights and programmable lighting controls.

Ø Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to National Electrical Code Requirements and reports back to supervisor.

Ø Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction

Ø Execute daily pre-operational inspection of lift machinery in order to accurately complete a legal lift-log document.

Ø Any irregularities are reported to lift maintenance and the log is then filed for future reference.

Ø Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and components

Ø Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials

Ø Identify required tools and special equipment.

Ø Select the type and size of pipe required

Ø Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures

Ø Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment.

Ø Assemble and install valves and fittings

Ø Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls

Ø Install, repair and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systems

Ø Install, repair and maintain sinks, tubs and toilets

Ø Install, repair and maintain water heaters and conditioners

Ø Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim

Ø Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks

Ø Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures

Ø Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.
