Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components for [mention specific applications/industries]. Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
- Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panels using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Select appropriate electrical components, including circuit breakers, relays, sensors, and PLCs, based on project requirements.
- Design and implement power distribution systems, control systems, and automation systems.
- Develop and maintain electrical design documentation, including technical specifications, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Perform calculations for voltage drop, current ratings, and power consumption.
- Design and implement grounding and bonding systems.
Testing & Validation:
- Conduct testing and validation of electrical systems and components to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare test reports and documentation.
- Perform factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, software, etc.) to ensure integrated system design.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers.
- Provide technical support to production and service teams.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback.
- Maintain organized project documentation.
Standards & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, UL).
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in electrical engineering technology and industry best practices.
- Perform risk assessments related to electrical designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with PLC programming and control systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, UL).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of power distribution systems.
- Experience with testing and validation of electrical systems.
