Electrical Design Manager

As a Team Leader of Electrical Designers/Engineers at Hitachi Energy, your role will be to lead a team to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and timely engineering solutions for customers. You will be responsible for creating plans, allocating resources, ensuring compliance with standard processes and safety requirements, and conducting performance reviews for team members. Key Responsibilities: - Take technical oversight of work within your area of responsibility, hold regular progress reviews, and manage technical issues. - Define operating guidelines and development strategies for direct reports, providing them with technical guidance. - Build a culture of identifying and satisfying customer needs to support business growth. - Drive development of processes and practices based on customer feedback. - Provide engineering support during the bid phase to ensure required resources are accounted for. - Ensure correct allocation of assignments and tasks within the team, defining relevant performance metrics. - Create work plans and cost estimates, manage the engineering team to deliver the program on time, quality, and cost. - Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities, develop and implement relevant processes to improve efficiency. - Ensure proper organization, staffing, skills, and direction within your area of responsibility. - Participate in defining the annual budget and manage performance against financial targets. - Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors/Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. - 5 or more years of industry experience leading electrical/mechanical project engineering in Power Transformers and Shunt Reactors. - Familiarity with 3D CAD, SAP, and engineering design tools preferred. - Exposure to engineering quality improvement tools such as Statistical analysis, Six Sigma tools, and managing customer complaints. - Proficiency in spoken & written English language.
