Electrical Design Engineer

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Atlas Transformers India Limited, your primary responsibility will be designing and developing electrical specifications for power and distribution transformers. You will be tasked with ensuring that the designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and manufacturing capabilities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including mechanical design, production, quality, and sales will be crucial in preparing detailed electrical designs, calculations, and technical documentation. It is essential to optimize transformer designs for performance, reliability, cost-efficiency, and compliance with international and regional standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI, and IS. Key responsibilities in this role include designing power and distribution transformers, developing electrical design parameters, selecting core materials and insulation systems based on customer specifications, and performing detailed design calculations for various transformer components. You will need to create complete transformer electrical design documents, support customer and project requirements, and coordinate with different teams to ensure successful integration of electrical and mechanical parameters. Your educational background should include a degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems, coupled with at least 2 to 4 years of experience in electrical design of power/distribution transformers. Proficiency in transformer theory, magnetic circuit design, winding design, and the ability to interpret technical drawings are essential technical skills for this role. Familiarity with electrical design and simulation software like MATLAB, Maxwell, FEMM, ANSYS, and AutoCAD Electrical is a plus. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, effective communication, time management, and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently are key competencies required for success in this role. The working conditions may involve office-based work with visits to production, testing, and inspection areas, occasional travel to customer sites or vendor locations, and flexibility to support urgent design modifications. Desirable additions to your profile could include experience with special transformer designs, exposure to grid connectivity studies or harmonic analysis, familiarity with ERP systems and PLM tools, and participation in type testing or failure analysis reviews at utilities or OEMs. Your role as an Electrical Design Engineer will involve standards compliance, technical documentation, transformer design, and the use of simulation tools to ensure the efficiency and reliability of transformer designs.,
