Electrical Design Engineer - Lithium Ion Battery

Role Overview

We are looking to onboard a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to design the electrical architecture of the battery, Cooling system, power distribution unit and charger as well as the integration of the battery with Vehicles, ESS system and many more. The role provides good ownership and first-hand exposure to the rapidly growing EV sector in India. You will be working closely with the core leadership team to deliver the proper electrical layout for the battery development.

Role Description and Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness layouts, and panel drawings for Li-ion battery systems and EV applications.
• Develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings (AutoCAD, inventor) based on design inputs and technical specifications.
• Create detailed assembly drawings, interconnection diagrams, and terminal block layouts for battery modules and packs.
• Support the design of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, including busbars, contactors, fuses, relays, and sensors.
• Assist engineers in preparing Bill of Materials (BOMs) and ensure drawing consistency with component selections.
• Ensure all drawings comply with IEC / IS / automotive electrical standards and internal quality procedures.
• Update drawings based on engineering change requests (ECRs) and maintain version control.
• Coordinate with mechanical, thermal, and control system teams to ensure proper integration of electrical designs.
• Support prototype builds by providing drawing clarifications and as-built updates

Desired Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 25 years of experience as an Electrical Draftsman in the battery, EV, or power systems industry (Li-ion experience preferred).
• Experience in EV battery pack design or ESS (Energy Storage System).
• Familiarity with 3D CAD for harness routing.
• Understanding of automotive standards.
• Basic knowledge of electrical testing and validation procedures for battery systems.
