Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Electrical Control Panel Designer with expertise in AutoCAD (2D) and 3D CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor / SolidWorks / EPLAN Pro Panel) to design and develop custom LV/MV electrical control panels, distribution boards, and automation systems. The role requires both electrical and mechanical design knowledge to create functional, manufacturable, and cost-effective panel layouts. Key Responsibilities: Design control panel GA drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, and terminal layouts in AutoCAD. Develop 3D panel layouts , including enclosure design, mounting arrangements, and cable routing using 3D CAD tools. Collaborate with the electrical engineering team to interpret schematics into physical layouts. Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and panel component specifications. Ensure designs comply with relevant IEC/IS standards (e.g., IEC 61439). Optimize panel space for efficient wiring and thermal management. Coordinate with production and procurement for design validation and material selection. Revise and maintain design documents throughout the project lifecycle. Support testing and troubleshooting during panel manufacturing. Maintain CAD libraries of standard parts and symbols. Required Skills & Qualifications: Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum 2–5 years experience in electrical panel design. Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical (2D) and any 3D design software like Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or EPLAN Pro Panel. Sound knowledge of LV and MV switchgear , VFDs, PLCs, MCBs, MCCBs, relays, and control systems. Familiar with cable sizing, panel heat dissipation , and mechanical constraints in panel layout. Experience in schematic to layout translation and BOM generation . Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPLAN Knowledge of type-tested panels (IEC 61439) . Understanding of electrical safety standards and panel IP ratings . Exposure to industrial automation and control logic design.
