Role Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented EHS Engineer with 24 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. The role supports the EHS team in implementing EHS protocols, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with local and national regulations, including those specific to Maharashtra.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits across the facility; report findings and assist in corrective actions.
- Monitor and maintain records of PPE usage, safety signage, and emergency equipment.
- Assist in the identification and control of environmental aspects and safety hazards.
- Support waste management activities in compliance with
MPCB
(Maharashtra Pollution Control Board) guidelines. - Participate in incident investigations and maintain documentation of near misses, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
- Help organize and conduct EHS training sessions and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
- Maintain and update EHS documentation, including permits, MSDS, and inspection checklists.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of hazardous materials.
- Support emergency preparedness activities including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first aid readiness.
- Promote 5S and workplace hygiene practices across departments.
- Assist in internal and external audits related to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure safe work practices during equipment servicing and shutdowns.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Full time bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering with safety qualification (ADIS / PGDIS) approved by state technical board/RLI/CLI.
- 2–4 years of experience in EHS operations within a manufacturing or industrial setup.
- Certification in Industrial Safety from a
Government of Maharashtra-recognized institute
(preferred). - Working knowledge of
Factories Act, 1948
, MPCB norms
, and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020
. - Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Basic understanding of hazardous waste handling, fire safety, and emergency response.
- Good communication skills in
English, Hindi, and Marathi
. - Proficiency in MS Office and EHS documentation tools
