As an Editor / Senior Editor for General Books (GK & Pre-Primary), your role will involve conceptualizing, developing, and overseeing the production of engaging educational content. You will collaborate with authors, illustrators, and academic experts to ensure that all books meet educational objectives and maintain high editorial standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop, edit, and proofread manuscripts for General Knowledge and Pre-Primary level books. - Conceptualize new titles and content based on market research and curriculum requirements. - Collaborate with authors and illustrators to create visually engaging content. - Ensure all materials are age-appropriate, accurate, and aligned with educational frameworks. - Maintain consistency in tone, style, and quality across projects. - Review layouts and proofs for textual and visual harmony. - Coordinate with design, production, and marketing teams for timely project completion. - Mentor junior editors and freelancers, providing feedback and quality control. - Stay updated on trends in early childhood education and innovative publishing practices. **Requirements:** - Masters degree in English, Education, Journalism, or related field. - Minimum 5-6 years of experience in educational publishing focusing on General Knowledge and/or Pre-Primary content. - Strong editorial skills, attention to detail, and creativity. - Excellent command of English language and grammar. - Understanding of child psychology and pedagogy for early learning content. - Familiarity with curriculum frameworks and market trends in educational publishing. - Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. - Proficiency in editorial tools (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Workspace). - Strong communication and collaboration skills.
