About the Role

We are looking for a skilled EDI Support Specialist with hands-on experience working with HIPAA-compliant healthcare claim formats (837P/I/D). The ideal candidate will support daily operations related to EDI encounter data processing, troubleshoot format-related issues, and assist in claim submissions and validation.

Experience with Python scripting for data handling or automation is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of EDI 837 (Professional, Institutional, and Dental) claims processing
• Validate and troubleshoot encounter data and electronic submissions to payers
• Work with healthcare clearinghouses, payers, and internal teams to ensure data quality and compliance
• Perform data analysis on EDI transactions, handle rejections and resolve format/integration issues
• Collaborate with developers and analysts to improve EDI workflows
• Use Python (if available) for scripting, automation, and validation of large datasets
• Maintain documentation and support tickets related to EDI processing and payer communications

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working with healthcare EDI formats, especially 837P, 837I, and/or 837D
• Strong understanding of encounter data, claim submission workflows, and payer requirements
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, ANSI X12 formats, and clearinghouse interactions
• Ability to identify and resolve issues in EDI file formatting, mapping, and payer response reports
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Exposure to Python scripting or interest in learning is highly desirable

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on with EDI validation tools, claim scrubbers, or healthcare EDI platforms
• Familiarity with 999/277CA acknowledgments, rejection reports, and payer portals
• Experience with SQL or flat-file data manipulation
