Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Drupal Backend Developer with 5+ years of experience, particularly in headless/decoupled architectures. The ideal candidate will be proficient in custom module development, API integration, and performance tuning. You will work closely with frontend teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain headless Drupal 9/10/11 backends.
Create and expose APIs using GraphQL, REST, and JSON:API.
Design and manage content structures (content types, fields, paragraphs, taxonomies).
Develop custom modules and extend core functionality using hooks and services.
Integrate and optimize Elasticsearch/Solr for advanced search features.
Support multilingual, SEO-friendly, and accessible content implementations.
Apply best practices in performance tuning, API security, and caching.
Collaborate with frontend teams on component-driven development.
Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, demos, retrospectives.
Conduct peer code reviews and ensure adherence to documentation standards.

Mandatory Requirements:

5+ years of backend development experience with Drupal 10/11.
Expertise in decoupled/headless Drupal architecture.
Strong experience with GraphQL, REST, and JSON:API.
Proficient with Drush, Composer, Acquia Cloud, Git, and Ddev.
Deep understanding of Drupal hooks, services, and custom module development.
Experience with Elasticsearch/Solr integration.
Knowledge of security best practices and performance optimization.
Ability to work independently in a remote Agile team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Optional Requirements:

Experience with OAuth2, JWT, and API versioning.
Familiarity with Varnish, Redis, and CDN integration.
Automated testing experience (PHPUnit, Behat).
Collaboration experience with Next.js or similar frontend frameworks.
Exposure to content staging, multi-site architectures, or governance workflows.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
