DLP Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain DLP policies and rules tailored to business needs and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Monitor and analyze DLP alerts and incidents, perform triage, root cause analysis, and coordinate timely remediation activities.
• Lead incident response efforts and coordinate with IT, Security, and business teams to mitigate data loss risks.
• Continuously tune and optimize DLP tools and workflows to reduce false positives and improve detection capabilities.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, reports, and dashboards to track DLP performance and incident trends.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Conduct regular reviews, audits, and risk assessments to ensure the effectiveness of data protection measures.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in data loss prevention and cybersecurity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Hands -on experience with Data Loss Prevention solutions (Symantec DLP, McAfee DLP, Forcepoint, or similar).
• Strong understanding of data classification, encryption, and data protection principles.
• Experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and remediation related to data loss.
• Ability to lead or support team activities including mentoring junior staff and managing cross-team collaborations.
• Knowledge of relevant compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and others.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
