Job Description

The Director of Marketing Communications develops, oversees and facilitates the implementation of all marketing communication strategies and activities of the cluster. Coordinates with all functional areas/revenue streams to ensure commercial targets are achieved by providing tactical marketing and strategic support. The Director of Marketing manages the public relations, communications (printed, digital experiential) advertising plan of the cluster. He/She also serves as the brand guardian of the hotel and ensures that it develops and maintains a positive brand image in the market aligned to the hotel positioning.

What will I be doing

As a Director of Marketing Communications, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
  • Ensures that brand identity, messaging and marketing and communications strategy are infused in all organizational efforts.
  • Ensures that all marketing efforts, from print to digital, align to approved value propositions and brand marketing messaging, as well as approved creative direction.
  • Develops hotel positioning with commercial leader and guides cohesive marketing strategy with short and long-term objectives.
  • Manages the production and dissemination of all marketing and communications materials across all departments in line with the established branding guidelines
  • Maintains accurate and relevant information of hotel website through PIM.
  • Photography on the hotel website that meets the Hilton standards.
  • Initiates and maintains photography needs of the hotel that are used for various marketing platforms
  • Drives effective content management across all available channels (this includes 3 rd party channels such as OTA sites, social media, mobile marketing and partnership programs) ensuring that standards are met and information are accurate, creative and current.
  • Develops and maintains active contacts with the press and key media people, and evaluates all media solicitations and exposures.
  • Formulates all hotel s social media strategy. Maintains the social media handles of the hotel in order to utilize these as communication platforms for hotel brand identity, promotions and announcements.
  • Maintains positive relations to organization stakeholders such as owners, team members, government, community, accounts, media partners and other organizations.
  • Within the limits of established organization policies and procedures, promotes quality and positive communications in order to promote and enhance the positive image of all hotels in the cluster.
  • Guides the strategy on press outreach, including messaging in press releases, creation of press kits and materials, interview preparation, and responses to all media requests.
  • Establishes and implements hotel s PR Crisis Management Plan.
  • Develops collaterals and hotel-branded merchandise requirements of all hotels in the cluster and ensures that these meet Hilton s standards
  • Utilizes MarKIT for templates as a resource for collateral development
  • Oversees the department s talent stewardship and succession planning
  • Monitors all current attitudes and public statements concerning the organization in foreign and local media.
  • Ensures adequate targeted publicity and coverage of the organization s positioning, promotional programs, corporate image building and other activities.
  • Assesses advertising needs and opportunities for the hotel and obtains initial approval of local media campaign proposals from the Commercial Director and General Manager.
  • Ensures that all advertising and collateral (local Food and Beverage, recruitment, etc.) are of consistent high standards, and that they comply with Hilton s brand standards.
  • Recommends and develops proposals and directs and implements below the line sales promotions, with external partners such as credit card companies, banks, department stores, airlines, etc. to support the advertising and sales campaigns.
  • Assists in the preparation and update of the Departmental Operations Manuals.
  • Attends regular departmental marketing communications meetings and ensure departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary.
  • Creates and executes a strategic and comprehensive advertising and Public Relations plan, including media planning as well as creative/visuals.
  • Collaborate with other managers/divisions to create and execute effective advertising and Public Relations plans.
  • Plan and execute press releases, press conferences, press briefings, press tours, and overall press relations
  • Perform recruitment and selection activities for the hotel marketing team ensuring diversity and equal representation of female team members, encouraging hiring from within (Internal Talent) philosophy of Hilton and in line with the goals assigned from time to time.
