Director Data Science

Role Overview: As a principal data scientist/Director in the Data Science/AI team at Delhivery, you will be leading the Gen AI charter. Your primary focus will be on training open source LLM Models, building the agentic stack, maintaining the necessary tech stack for observability and continuous improvement, and providing strategic leadership to define areas of experimentation and investment. You will be expected to take full ownership of problem statements, switch between high-level business discussions and deeply technical solution design and implementation. Key Responsibilities: - Training open source LLM Models - Building the agentic stack using tools/mcps/LLMs/routers - Maintaining the necessary tech stack for observability and continuous improvement - Providing strategic leadership to define areas of experimentation and investment Qualification Required: - Excitement for data and business, and the ability to bring the two together for high impact - Strong mathematics and logical skills - Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills - Proficiency in Python - Experience in leading a team of 5 or more members - Proven track record of delivering end-to-end solutions to industry problems - 7-10 years of relevant industry experience - Bachelors/masters degree in a STEM subject from a top-tier institution in India or abroad Company Details: Delhivery's Data Science/AI team plays a fundamental role in the company's operations, leveraging technology and algorithms to handle millions of parcels daily.
