Director- Coding

As a Director of Medical Coding at R1, your role will be crucial in leading and evolving our medical coding operations. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our coding practice. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading large-scale medical coding operations while maintaining compliance and accuracy standards - Building and managing high-performing coding teams across specialties such as IPDRG, ED, HCC, etc. - Driving strategic initiatives for automation, process improvement, and coder productivity - Collaborating with clinical, quality, and training teams to establish a robust coder upskilling framework - Engaging with senior stakeholders and clients to uphold SLAs and performance metrics - Staying updated with industry trends, regulatory updates, and coding standards To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates with: - 12-15 years of experience in healthcare delivery, revenue cycle management, or medical coding leadership - A strong academic background with a preference for a graduate/postgraduate degree from a reputed institute - Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent is preferred - Excellent knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and DRG coding guidelines - Demonstrated experience in leading teams, effective stakeholder communication, and managing cross-functional projects - Strategic thinking abilities combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred candidates will have a blend of healthcare operations and medical coding leadership experience, exposure to global healthcare standards, and client-facing roles.
