Educational Qualification
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production
- Freshers can be considered; some preference may be given to those who have completed industrial training / projects.
- Good academic record.
Key Responsibilities
As a trainee, the candidate will be expected to:
Learning & Assistance
- Learn about the manufacturing processes used in the plant.
- Assist senior engineers in daytoday operations of production, quality, maintenance, tooling, etc.
Production Support
: - Monitor machines / equipment during operation for performance, quality, and safety.
- Help in preparing and maintaining production reports, documentation, and logs.
- Ensure adherence to process parameters and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Quality Assurance / Control
: - Inspect parts / assemblies for defects; support the quality team in root cause analysis of nonconformities.
- Help with sample testing, measurement, using tools.
- Maintain quality records and help in implementing corrective actions.
Process Improvement & Efficiency
: - Observe existing workflows and suggest improvements for reducing waste, improving productivity, safety, or cost.
- Participate in Kaizen / Lean / 5S / continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety, Environment & Compliance
: - Follow safety guidelines strictly.
- Ensure good housekeeping.
- Understand environmental compliance, waste management, etc.
Reporting & Communication
: - Prepare reports (daily/weekly) on assigned tasks, machine performance, quality issues, etc.
- Communicate with supervisors / crossfunctional teams regarding issues, progress, etc.
Skills / Competencies
- Basic mechanical engineering knowledge: thermodynamics, materials, machining, welding etc.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes & machine tools.
- Basic computer skills: MS Office, the ability to learn ERP / plant software.
- Good measurement skills; ability to use metrology instruments.
- Analytical mindset: problem solving, root cause thinking.
- Willingness to learn, take instructions, adapt to plant environment.
- Good communication skills (verbal & written).
- Good work ethic, punctuality, responsibility.
Performance Indicators
- Accuracy of work / error rates in assigned tasks.
- Ability to meet production / quality targets.
- Speed of learning and reduction in supervision required over time.
- Participation in improvement efforts.
- Adherence to safety, process and standard operating procedure (SOP).
- Discipline, attendance, teamwork attitude.
