Job Description (JD) for a Sheet Metal Stainless Steel (SS) Flange Die Maker position 

Job Title: Sheet Metal SS Flange Die Maker

Department: Tool Room / Production Engineering

Location: Bhiwadi 

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

Responsible for designing, developing, assembling, and maintaining sheet metal dies and tools for manufacturing stainless steel (SS) flanges. Ensures precision, accuracy, and efficiency in die making to achieve high-quality production output.

Key Responsibilities:

Study component drawings and specifications for SS sheet metal flanges.

Design and manufacture press tools, blanking dies, Triming dies, and Draw dies for flange production.

Perform die assembly, fitting, and trial on presses to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance of existing dies and tools.

Operate tool room machines such as surface grinder, milling machine, lathe, drilling.

Ensure proper heat treatment, hardness, and finishing of die components.

Collaborate with the design and production teams for die modification and improvement.

Maintain die records, tool maintenance logs, and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.

Work with SS sheets of varying thickness (0.6mm – 1 mm), maintaining close tolerances.

Ensure adherence to safety standards and quality requirements ( 5S practices).

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of sheet metal tool design and fabrication.

Experience with SS material behavior and forming characteristics.

Skilled in precision measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge).

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.

Problem-solving and analytical skills for tool correction and optimization.

Qualification:

ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience:

3 to 8 years of experience in sheet metal die making, preferably in flange or press part manufacturing.

Additional Advantage:

Experience with progressive dies / compound dies for SS components.

Familiarity with press machines (mechanical/hydraulic).

Knowledge of press tool try out and mass production support.
