Dialysis Technician

Meditrina Hospital, Kollam is looking for a skilled and dedicated Dialysis Technician to join our Nephrology team and support our growing dialysis services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, operate, and monitor dialysis machines and related equipment during patient treatment.
• Perform pre-dialysis and post-dialysis patient assessments, including vital signs, weight, and overall health condition.
• Cannulate and connect patients safely to the dialysis machine following proper protocols.
• Monitor patients during dialysis for any complications, and promptly report abnormalities to the duty doctor.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and hospital policies.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and update patient files regularly.
• Assist in the maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of dialysis machines and water treatment systems.
• Provide patient education and emotional support regarding the dialysis process, dietary restrictions, and lifestyle adjustments.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality care.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma / B Sc in Dialysis Technology from a recognized institution (B.Sc. Dialysis Technology preferred).
• Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a dialysis unit.
• In-depth knowledge of dialysis procedures, equipment handling, and infection control practices.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient-care skills.
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays as per hospital requirements.
