Role Overview: You are applying for the position of Deputy General Manager - Design (India) at FlipSpaces. In this role, you will have direct ownership of marquee projects, focusing on hands-on design conceptualization, client engagement, and project delivery excellence. Unlike traditional leadership positions, this role will be largely individual-contributor in nature with minimal team management. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with business development, project management, and execution teams. Key Responsibilities: - Independently handle design mandates for large-scale commercial interior projects. - Develop space plans, layouts, and design concepts aligned with client needs and brand ethos. - Create and deliver design presentations, mood boards, and visualization outputs. - Ensure high design quality, functionality, and innovation in all deliverables. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: - Work directly with clients, including CXOs and senior leadership, to understand requirements and present design solutions. - Collaborate with business development teams during pitches to provide strong design-led perspectives. - Act as the key design representative for assigned projects in client meetings. Collaboration & Support: - Partner with execution, procurement, and estimation teams to ensure seamless translation of design intent into delivery. - Utilize FlipSpaces proprietary VR technology to enhance design visualization and client experience. - Support the AVP - Design and leadership team in driving design excellence and maintaining brand standards. Strategic Contribution: - Keep abreast of workplace design trends, sustainability practices, and emerging tools. - Contribute to design innovation and the evolution of FlipSpaces design processes. Required Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field. - 8-12 years of professional experience in commercial/workplace interior design. - Strong portfolio of independently handled large-scale corporate/commercial projects. - Excellent design software proficiency (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, VR tools preferred). - Strong communication, presentation, and client interaction skills. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, balancing creativity with practical execution. Preferred Attributes: - Prior experience with leading design or design-build firms. - Familiarity with sustainability and green building certifications (LEED, WELL, IGBC). - Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
