Job Description

Role & responsibilities 1. Contracts Management & Vendor Finalization: Oversee end-to-end contract management for all civil and MEP works, ensuring adherence to project specifications and budgets. Prepare, review, and finalize contract agreements, BOQs, specifications, and scope of work with vendors and contractors. Ensure risk assessment, legal compliance, and contractual obligations are well-defined before contract execution. Evaluate and manage claims, variations, and contractual disputes in coordination with the legal and project teams. 2 . Procurement Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for all civil and MEP materials and subcontracted works. Ensure timely procurement of materials and services without delays in project execution. Optimize procurement costs by negotiating the best pricing, quality, and delivery timelines. Ensure budget control and cost-saving measures while maintaining quality and project requirements. 3. Tendering & Bid Management: Oversee the tendering process, including floating RFQs, evaluating vendor pre-qualification (PQ), and bid analysis. Conduct pre-bid and post-bid meetings with vendors, consultants, and stakeholders to finalize contract terms. Perform technical and commercial bid evaluations to select the most competitive contractors and suppliers. Ensure proper documentation and approval of awarded contracts from senior management. 4. Cost Control & Budgeting: Establish cost benchmarks for procurement and subcontracting works, ensuring alignment with project budgets. Monitor cost escalations, material price fluctuations, and financial impacts on contracts. Work closely with the QS and finance teams to ensure that contractor payments align with certified work progress. 5. Vendor & Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for civil & MEP works. Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure material availability, price stability, and quality compliance. Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations to mitigate risks and ensure project efficiency. 6. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure procurement and contract activities comply with company policies, legal frameworks, and industry standards. Identify and mitigate contractual and procurement risks proactively. Ensure documentation is maintained for audit, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution purposes. 7. Coordination with Project & Finance Teams: Work closely with project managers, QS, finance, and execution teams to ensure smooth contract execution and material flow. Ensure timely release of purchase orders, work orders, and payments as per contract terms. Provide regular reports to senior management on contract performance, procurement status, and risk analysis. Preferred candidate profile Key Qualities & Must-Have Skills: Strong Negotiation & Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze bids, negotiate contracts, and optimize costs without compromising quality. Technical Expertise in Civil & MEP Works: Deep understanding of construction methodologies, MEP systems, BOQs, and materials. Contract Management & Legal Knowledge: Proficiency in contract drafting, claims management, dispute resolution, and compliance. Budgeting & Cost Control: Ability to monitor procurement costs, implement cost-saving strategies, and prevent cost overruns. Market Intelligence: Strong awareness of market trends, price fluctuations, and vendor capabilities in the construction industry. Multitasking & Problem-Solving: Ability to handle multiple contracts, resolve procurement issues, and maintain project timelines. Leadership & Team Management: Ability to lead procurement and contracts teams, ensure team productivity, and align with project goals. ERP & Procurement Software Knowledge: Experience in using SAP, Oracle, MS Project, and other ERP-based procurement tools. Required Experience & Qualifications: Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. An MBA in Supply Chain Management, Contracts, or Construction Management is preferred. Experience: 23 26 years of experience in Contracts & Procurement for Civil & MEP Works. Industry Exposure: Must have worked on high-rise residential, commercial, and villa projects. Project Handling: Must have experience in managing large-scale contracts, tendering, and procurement from pre-construction to handover. Certifications (Preferred): CPCM, MRICS, or equivalent certifications in contract management or procurement.
