Development Director

As a Development Director for a leading international Engineering and Project Management firm, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of complex hospitality developments based in Gurgaon, India. In this leadership role, you will need to demonstrate vision, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage large, multi-disciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle - from feasibility to final delivery and opening. Your key responsibilities will include shaping each project's development brief, advising on brand alignment, setting budgets and programmes, and providing hands-on leadership to ensure the successful and timely delivery of hotels to world-class quality standards. You will serve as the primary lead for all client hospitality projects, working closely with client leadership to define development goals, brand alignment, and performance benchmarks. Additionally, you will lead the preparation of Project Execution Plans (PEP), advise on hotel operator brand standards, drive value engineering efforts, and provide hands-on leadership during feasibility and design stages. It will be crucial for you to ensure tight control of project timelines and budgets, drive accountability across all stakeholders, and champion disciplined execution to deliver projects without compromising quality or operational performance. Moreover, you will be responsible for overseeing project delivery from concept design through construction, ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and sustainability objectives. As a team leader, you will mentor and lead a multi-disciplinary team, foster a culture of collaboration and excellence, and ensure continuous alignment between client expectations and internal delivery standards. The ideal candidate for this role should have over 20 years of international project management experience in delivering complex hospitality assets on schedule and within budget. A strong background in the hotel development lifecycle, familiarity with operator-led design standards, and expertise in procurement, cost control, and design coordination are essential.
