About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Junior Desktop Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing first-level technical support to end-users, ensuring the smooth functioning of hardware and software systems, and maintaining optimal IT operations across the organization. Qualifications
The preferred candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. Candidates with 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in desktop or IT support will be considered favorably. A good understanding of Windows 10/11 operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, and enterprise tools is essential. Basic knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and fundamental networking concepts is required. Familiarity with endpoint security solutions, antivirus tools, and ticketing systems will be an added advantage. Strong troubleshooting skills, analytical thinking, and excellent communication abilities are crucial for success in this role. Candidates should demonstrate a customer-focused approach and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level desktop support to end-users both on-site and remotely, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems, MS Office applications, and standard business software.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
- Set up and maintain user accounts, email configurations, and network access controls to facilitate seamless user operations.
- Ensure proper functioning of LAN, Wi-Fi, and basic network connectivity, addressing connectivity issues as they arise.
- Perform routine system checks, updates, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance system performance.
- Accurately log all support requests, issues, and resolutions in the ticketing system for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Coordinate with L2 and L3 support teams for complex issues requiring advanced troubleshooting or escalation.
- Assist with IT asset management activities, including inventory updates, hardware/software documentation, and lifecycle management.
- Support new employee onboarding by setting up systems, configuring access, and ensuring all hardware and software are operational from day one.
