We are seeking a skilled and experienced SR. Design Manager to lead our Production Engineering Drawing team. The role involves overseeing the preparation and management of detailed manufacturing drawings, coordinating closely with the production and sales teams, and ensuring high-quality and timely output. The candidate will also be responsible for managing a team of engineers and AutoCAD draftsmen, providing guidance, support, and quality checks. This position involves conducting regular meetings, reviewing project plans, and ensuring that all design work meets company standards and client requirements.

Key Skills/Abilities

1. Lead and supervise the team of production drawing engineers and AutoCAD draftsmen, ensuring efficient workload distribution and timely delivery.

I. Review and approve manufacturing drawings generated by the team to ensure compliance with production standards, design specifications, and quality norms.

II. Provide technical guidance and support to the drawing team for complex assemblies and fabrication detailing.

III. Ensure all drawings meet internal standards, customer requirements, and manufacturing feasibility.

IV. Coordinate with the production team to resolve issues related to drawing mismatches, fabrication errors, or process constraints.

V. Liaise with the sales and project teams to ensure that customer-

VI. specific requirements are properly understood and incorporated into design outputs.

VII. Maintain and manage drawing documentation, BOMs, revision histories, and project folders.

VIII. Implement best practices, standardization, and quality control processes for all production drawings.

IX. Facilitate continuous skill development of the drawing team by organizing training sessions and providing regular feedback.

X. Drive process improvements to enhance drawing accuracy, reduce rework, and support lean manufacturing goals.

2. Minimum 9+ years of experience in design or production drawing management in a manufacturing environment.

1. Expertise in AutoCAD and familiarity with other design software

2. Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers and draftsmen.

3. Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, HVAC, or industrial equipment manufacturing processes.

4. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interdepartmental coordination skills.

5. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality control.

6. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering, B. Tech-Mechanical.
